Serbia’s heroic criminals
After 16 years of pursuit, suddenly Belgrade announced the arrest of elusive General Ratko Mladić, former commander of Bosnian-Serb Army 1992-1996. For 15 years, the Serb was on the run from the International Criminal Court over alleged massacre against Bosnian Muslims.
Although his arrest sent out a strong message to war criminals all over the world that they cannot escape claw of justice, many wonder what implication this arrest will have on relations between Bosnian Muslims and Serbs.

Lisa, a French girl living in the Netherlands, goes to the Iranian shop every morning to buy her favourite Turkish bread that she tried in Istanbul once. The shop owner is actually a Kurd from Teheran married to an Armenian woman and immigrated to Holland some time ago. The Armenian wife of the Kurdish shop owner wears a scarf which Lisa always considers as very fashionable, but she has never told the woman. Apparently, the scarf was bought in Milan where the shop owners went on vacation.

Relying on old-fashioned intelligence techniques like surveillance and data analysis, the Obama administration successfully killed the head of al-Qaida, a figure who remained illusive to the Bush Administration in their eight-year quest to find him.

The Hollywood-style ending to Osama bin Laden life inside Pakistani garrison town has shocked as well as relieved the world. Quest for world’s most wanted man may be over, the mystery about his terror network has not been resolved. Though Pakistanis pre-dominantly paid a heavy price of 35,000 lives in Osama-inspired terror attacks, the country’s ordeal is far from over.
